In 2007, the professor Bart
Ehrman, from the University
of North Caroline, focused
on the textual
inconsistencies of the New
Testament in a speech at the
University of Stanford. In
the current year, he has
released the work Jesus,
Interrupted , in which
he tries to show the
contradictions within the
Bible, subject that is the
central theme of this week’s
editorial, entitled
The supposedly Christian
religions and their
contradictions.
Gustavo Leopoldo Rodrigues
Daré, spiritist since his
infancy and doctor rooted in
the city of Ribeirão Preto,
speaks in the interview
conceded to the editor Orson
Peter Carrara about the
origin and objectives of the
event entitled Paths to
Spiritism, which has
obtained a great success,
specially in the countryside
of the São Paulo state. The
interview is one of the
headlines in this edition.
Another headline in this
number is the special
Reflections about the impact
of the thoughts in the
therapy of cancer, by
the confrere Jorge Hessen,
who shows that faith,
although does not modify the
Laws of Nature, can help the
work of a good medical team,
making a big difference in
the treatment.
In the interview conceded to
the magazine Época,
Bart Ehrman criticizes the
Bible and explains why he
understands that such a book
was not inspired by God, as
it is presented in the
special report by Thiago
Bernardes, which also
constitutes one of the
headlines this week.
