Mexico's experience
regarding the legalization
of abortion
This
week’s editorial, Life is
a gift from God and God
alone can take it,
examines the experience of
Mexico regarding the
legalization of abortion, a
practice that Spiritism does
not admit except to save the
mother's endangered life.
Our interview this week is
with Professor Denise Lino,
from Campina Grande (PB).
With a degree in Literature,
a PhD in Education from USP
and spiritist since
childhood, Denise belongs to
the Joanna de Angelis
Spiritist Society, which
disseminates Spiritism
through lectures and
seminars. She is also
director of the DIJ -
Department of Children Youth.
In the interview, Denise
talks about the current
moment that the spiritist
dissemination is going
through in our country. The
interview, given to our
collaborator Orson Peter
Carrara, is one of the
highlights of this edition.
Another feature of this
edition is the special
article entitled The
importance of planning for
spiritist institutions,
authored by our colleague
José Lourenço de Souza Neto,
from Belo Horizonte-MG.
Paul Salerno writes about
the conference by Divaldo
Franco on October 1st in
Florianópolis-SC, at the
First National Forum of
Mediumship and the
Paranormal. The report is
also one of the highlights
of the week.

The
Auto-da-fé in Barcelona
occurred on this date -
October 9th - 150 years ago.
The event, which occurred in
1861, the same year in which
Kardec published The Book of
Mediums, received a huge
response and, as the Spirits
tell, helped spread in Spain
the seeds of a doctrine was
just over 4 years old.
Kardec referred to the event
in the November 1861 issue
of the Revue Spirite. Here
is the link that refers the
reader to the relevant
collection of Revue for that
year - http://www.oconsolador.com.br/linkfixo/bibliotecavirtual/revista-espirita-1861.pdf.
