Célia Tomboly (photo),
born in Minas Gerais
state but now settled in
São Vicente, São Paulo,
has been a Spiritist
since she was 20 years
old. In São Vicente, she
founded the Spiritist
Home Alvorada Nova (New
Dawn), which helps
people in a deprived
area of the city. The
income from her musical
career,
including the
sale of CDs, has
|
|
helped to build the
building where the group
is. In this interview,
she says she put
together two things she
is passionate about:
music and Spiritism:
|
When did you begin to
put together your music
and Spiritism?
Fifteen years ago, when
we founded Our Spiritist
Home.
Who writes the songs
that you sing so well?
There are many writers,
such as Roberto
Ferreira, Marisa Cajado,
Écio Buck and others. I
sing their song with the
joy that comes when you
know you are sending a
message of hope to
others in the light of
the Gospel.
What have been your
greatest joys?
Oh, certainly it is the
joy of singing a greater
love.
How many CDs have you
recorded? And how many
songs are there in your
repertoire?
I have recorded 14 CDs.
There are more than 200
songs, which I also use
in my musical lectures.
Where can people buy
your CDs?
The contacts are:
www.alvoradanova.org.br,
emails
alvoradanova@msn.com
or
celiatomboly@hotmail.com
or phone numbers + 5513
35766969 or 35764850.
Tell us a bit more about
the musical lectures…
They are truly amazing
experiences, as the
public gets really
deeply involved thanks
to the music.
What experience would
you like to share with
our readers?
The emotions brought
about by music. The
words, the feeling music
produces and the
atmosphere of the rooms
where I perform are true
expressions of the
generosity and greatness
of the Gospel.
Is there anything else
you would like to add?
I would like to remind
everyone that the sale
of CDs played a very
important role in the
construction of our
Spiritist Home and its
maintenance. I would
invite all readers to
visit our website,
mentioned above, to get
to know our work.
