In twelve days begins the
7th
World Spiritist Congress
This week’s editorial, "Cuba
and Spiritism: a partnership
that dates back to the time
of Kardec" reminds us
that Cuba is the 2nd
country in the world in
number of spiritist centers
and therefore meets all the
conditions for hosting the 7th
World Spiritist Congress
scheduled for this month.
One of the highlights of
this edition is the
interview given by Walkiria
Ank to our collaborator
Guaraci de Lima Silveira.
Born in Belo Horizonte-MG,
but living for past seven
years in the United States
where she runs the Spiritist
Society Renovation in
Georgia, Walkiria provides
an account of the Spiritist
movement in that country.
Another highlight of this
issue is the special article
titled "Where God has
always been in great
tragedies," authored by
Gerson Simões Monteiro, from
Rio de Janeiro-RJ. As the
esteemed colleague explains,
only ignorance about the
laws that govern life would
lead us to think that God
remains absent and
indifferent to the fate of
His children.
From March 22 to 24, 2013
the 7th World Spiritist
Congress takes place in
Cuba, promoted by the
International Spiritist
Council (ISC). "La
Educación y la Caridad
Spiritual en la Construcción
de un Mundo de Pax - 150
años del Evangelio según el
Espiritism” will be the
theme of the congress, as
shown in the special report
that is included in this
edition.

In 1986, on a day like today
- March 10th -
passed away in Rio de
Janeiro-RJ, the 81-year-old
Francisco Klörs Werneck,
lawyer, historian, writer,
journalist, translator and
spiritist lecturer. To him
we owe the translation of
many works written by
Ernesto Bozzano, Oliver
Lodge, Cesar de Vesne and
others.
