José Passini and the importance of Esperanto as
an international language

This week’s editorial, "A farewell to a good man", focuses on the life and work of an extraordinary person, Euclides Alves de Araújo, who returned to the spiritual home on September 6th after 92 years of a fruitful existence.

One of the highlights of this edition is the interview that the young colleague Waldir Imbroisi, from Juiz de Fora (MG) granted to our collaborator Guaraci de Lima Silveira. In the interview, he tells us about the work of the Spiritist youths, its challenges and its role in the Spiritist movement. Teacher with a Master's degree in Literary Studies and Spiritist since 2004, Imbroisi works with the Spiritist Municipal Alliance of Juiz de Fora.

Another highlight of this edition is the special article titled "Linguistic Rights", by Professor José Passini, from Juiz de Fora (MG). Divided into two parts, the article demonstrates the importance of Esperanto as a neutral international language accessible to all people. The final part of the article will be published in the next issue of this magazine.

Founded on August 10th, 1948, the Spiritist Center Gabriel Ferreira, located at Rua Kaneda, 474 - Vila Maria in São Paulo (SP), is celebrating 65 years of existence, as shown by Martha Rios Guimarães in a story that is also a highlight of this edition.

Monday, September 9th, marked another anniversary - the number 160 – of the birth of Peter Richard. Born in the city of Macaé (RJ), Richard was one of the founders of the Grupo Ismael and one of the most important pioneers of Spiritism in Brazil.
