Hugo Gonçalves, the Daddy,
returns to the Spiritual
Home
Our dear
friend Hugo Gonçalves,
Director of the newspaper O
IMORTAL (The Immortal),
disincarnated on the morning
of October 15, Tuesday, nine
days after having celebrated
100 years of age. The body,
after being veiled in the
main hall of the Allan
Kardec Spiritist Centre in
Cambé, was buried the
following day. (Read more
about Hugo Gonçalves on the
topic Paraná in the issue
Brazillian Spiritist
Movement in this same
edition.)
The title of this week’s
editorial, "Is Spiritism
a science?" is
considered an old question
about the scientific
character of the spiritist
doctrine that always comes
back to the surface.
One of the highlights of
this edition is the
interview given to our
collaborator Orson Peter
Carrara by the teacher and
researcher Otaciro Rangel
Nascimento, PhD in physics
associated to the Institute
of Physics of São Carlos at
USP. In the interview, the
colleague from Goias talks
about the connection between
conventional science and
Spiritism.
Another highlight is the
special article titled
"The Theory of Ancient
Astronauts", authored by
the colleague João Fernandes
da Silva Jr., from Biguaçu-SC.
In the article, the author
leaves two questions up in
the air for the reflection
of the readers: Have we in
the past been visited by
beings from other worlds? If
this occurred, what would
have been the purpose?
The 7th Spiritist
Congress of Rio Grande do
Sul was held in the city of
Gramado, from October 4th
through 6th,
having the theme "The
Gospel in the World and in
the Hearts" as reported
by the colleague Paulo
Salerno in an article which
is also one of the
highlights of this edition .
