Psychological Sight of Spiritism

Rogério Coelho's special article of this issue, Spiritism & Evolution, should be received neither only as an analysis of this important theme, but above all as an exhortation.

Spiritism is an experience; it is a practical philosophy. It only takes place in behavior, in thought, in word. In this way, it cannot be a spirit in theory, nor only in studies. There are spirits who lead a life of study, but who avoid all invitations to share their knowledge. On the other hand, there are those who settle for the rostrum without improving themselves by "working hard" in the fieldwork.

Possible happiness on earth lies in the practice of good, in good conscience, in continued inner reformation, and in possession of what is necessary. Let us remember the Beatitudes. Humility, pacification, gentleness, mercy, endurance, patience in persecution. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness's sake, that is, happy all of us who are in atonement because of the justice of the law of cause and effect.

We are sowers. It has been said that the Old Testament was the prayer of a people to God for salvation. Jesus was the answer and with it he promised us the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, to lead us to the truth that will free us from the inferiority that is characteristic of us.
 

Many of us wander through gloomy regions before we merit the rescue of compassionate friends and, taken to the citadels of love, merit the opportunity for a new reincarnation. We bring a dark past, and we forget about reincarnation. In addition, we often find ourselves quite evolved just by adhering to a liberating belief, albeit regrettably distant from the conditions proposed by Jesus: "If any man will come after me, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me."
