An experience that
came to stay
The experience narrated by our confrere Carlos Antonio de Barros Silva, during the interview that illustrates this edition, shows the importance of the Internet on the divulgation of the Spiritist teachings.
Regardless if it is in Northeastern, Southeastern or Southern Brazil, the fact is that the idea of using such a powerful mean of communication to disseminate Spiritism is no longer a mere theory, and came to stay.
Recently in this magazine, we could see how Rádio Fraternidade (Radio Fraternity), from Uberlândia (Minas Gerais), has been successful at broadcasting Spiritist programs via the world wide network.
The audio quality of such Web Radio is high, having a clear transmission, just like an FM radiostation located in our own city. In addition to that, the listener can access previous programs, available at any time once recorded, which is a typical feature of TV, newspapers and magazines conceived for Internet.
On the top of that, there’s something intriguing regarding the subject.
Similarly to what happened on this magazine foundation in early 2007, once the idea is “on air”, it was disseminated simuntaneously in many places, like creating a network within the network, in which people from everywhere can see, listen or read the Spiritist teachings without any additional cost.
When the magazine O Consolador appeared, many internauts started visiting it and one of them, who lives in a city without any Spiritist Center, mentioned that since then he could follow the week studies offered by the magazine and keep himself informed about the Spiritist Movement without leaving home.
However, there are some people who finds a serious disadvantage in the use of Internet, despite the number os possibilities it offers, which is the inexistence of computers and the lack of connectivity in many homes. Difficulty that isn’t faced by conventional (printed) publications.
It´s true indeed, but we know that it’s temporary.
When the television appeared in Brazil, just a few people had TV sets, whereas radio was predominant. Years passed and nowadays it’s very rare finding homes without a TV set, even when located in a small town in the countryside.
The same will occur with Computers and Internet. The generations that will come to Earth from our grandsons on won’t afford living without such tools, and it’s certainly because of this reality that so many people realized they need to take advantage of them imediately, in order to divulgate teachings that only promotes the good, peace and harmony among individuals.
