In Brazil, there’s the
understanding that politics,
soccer and religion aren’t
subjects to be discussed.
Would such thinking be true?
This is the subject of this
week’s editorial, entitled
Is it possible to discuss
soccer, politics and
religion?
One of the highlights this
week is the interview
conceded to the journalist
Katia Fabiana Fernandes by
the confrere Manuel Portasio,
rooted in London. The
Spiritist scholar and
speaker, born in São Paulo,
who lives in the capital of
the United Kingdom since
2005, talks about the
English Spiritist Movement
and other several doctrinal
matters.
Another highlight in this
issue is the conclusion of
the special report written
by the confrere Francisco
Rebouças, from Niteroi
(state of Rio de Janeiro),
regarding the moral
influence of the medium
during the communications.
One more Training Course for
Spiritist Educators of
Children took place last
Sunday 21st in Sao Paulo
(state of Sao Paulo), as
shows the special report by
Martha Rios Guimarães, which
is also a highlight in this
edition.

Finally, two great news.
Next week, we’ll start the
Systematized Study of the
New Testament, covering the
gospels of Matthew, Mark,
Luke, John and Acts of
Apostles. The study will
replace the Systematized
Study of the Spiritist
Doctrine, which has reached
its last lesson today.
From March on, this magazine
will count on the
collaboration of the
confrere Leonardo Rocha, who
has been living in London
for 15 years ago and works
in the Editorial of English
Language of BBC World
Service. Leonardo will
replace our friend Emerson
Gadelha Lacerda in the task
of translating both the
Letter to the reader and the
Editorial of this magazine.
We send our hugs to the
departing confrere and to
the arriving friend, wishing
a year full of much peace
and progress for both of
them.
