Chico Xavier,
100 years
The Brazilian
people and the
spirit of the
world honor the
centennial
of his birth,
the apostle of
love and charity
and the most
important medium
in the history
of Spiritism
This year will
be marked by
successive
homage to the
Brazilian people
will pay to the
late medium
Francisco
Cândido Xavier
in the year of
the centenary of
his birth.
Born on April 2,
1910 and
christened with
the name of
Francisco de
Paula Cândido,
Chico Xavier
became famous
not only as a
medium and one
of the largest
publishers in
the history of
Spiritualism,
but as a true
apostle of love
and charity.
|
Born in
Sao
Leopoldo,
metropolitan
region
of Belo
Horizonte,
his
parents
were
named
Maria
João de
Deus and
João
Cândido
Xavier.
Educated
in the
Catholic
faith,
Chico
had his
first
contact
with the
Spiritist
Doctrine
in 1927,
during
an
obsessive
process,
which
affected
one of
his
sisters.
He
proceeded
to study
and
develop
their
abilities,
which,
as he
reported
in a
note in
the book
Parnassus
from
Beyond
the
Grave,
only
gained
greater
clarity
at the
end of
1931.
His
baptismal
name was
given
him in
honor of
the holy
day
|
of his
birth,
but soon
broke
with
Catholicism
and
wrote
his
first
book,
was
replaced
by the
name of
Francisco
Cândido
Xavier,
this
change
officially
years
later,
in April
1966
during a
trip to
the
United
States. |
According to his
biographers, the
psychic power of
Chico would have
shown the first
time to four
years old when
he answered his
father about
science, during
a conversation
with you about
pregnancy. He
would see and
hear spirits and
talk to them. At
five years
talking to her
mother, so
disembodied. In
her godmother's
house, was
severely
mistreated, and
can take bites
in the belly. At
seven years old,
left her
godmother's
house to return
to live with his
father, who had
married a second
time. To assist
in funding the
expenses of the
house, the boy
worked and
studied in
public school.
In the year 1924
finished primary
school and not
returned to
school, devoting
himself entirely
to work. In May
1927, attended a
seance where he
saw the Spirit
of his mother,
who advised him
to read the
works of Allan
Kardec. In June
he helped found
the Spiritist
Center Luiz
Gonzaga in July
and started work
in the field of
psychographics.
In 1928, aged
18, began
publishing his
first messages
through
automatic
writing in the
newspapers O
Jornal of Rio de
Janeiro and
Almanac News
from Portugal.
Chico Xavier
disincarnated on
30 June 2002, at
92 years
On May 22, 1965
Chico Xavier and
Waldo Vieira
traveled to
Washington,
United States,
to disseminate
Spiritism
abroad. With the
help of Solomon
Salim Haddad,
president of the
Christian Spirit
Center, and his
wife Phillis,
launched the
book there
Spiritist Ideal,
a version for
the English
language.
On July 28, 1971
gave an
interview for
Rede Tupi of
Television, Drip
Fire with Chico
Xavier, who
became famous
and was,
according to
several scholars
of Spiritism, a
decisive
penetration of
the Spiritist
Doctrine in the
media.
Chico Xavier
desincarnated on
30 June 2002, at
92 years of age
due to cardiac
failure. As
reports of close
friends and
relatives, he
had asked God to
disembody

on a day
when the
Brazilians
were
happy
and the
country
party,
so that
no one
would be
saddened
by his
passing.
On the
day of
his
death in
Brazil

had

Chico Xavier,
shortly before
his death, was
elected in a
contest promoted
by Rede Globo
Minas Gerais,
the Minas'
Citizen of the
twentieth
century,
competing with
well-known
personalities
such as Santos
Dumont and
Juscelino
Kubitschek.
Before his
death, he would
have left a kind
of code with
people you trust
so that they
could ratify his
presence when
there was a
contact. Now we
approach the
eighth year of
his death and no
contact has been
confirmed so
far.
The fact is
mentioned in a
report published
by Isto É
magazine in
26/2/2010, that
we extract the
following
passage:
"Hopefully,
those who
dedicated their
life to be the
voice of spirits
hold any
communication
with the living
after death.
Since the death
of Chico Xavier,
nearly eight
years, numerous
mediums appeared
claiming to be
recipients of
messages sent by
him . To
circumvent the
profiteers,
Chico arranged a
secret code with
the three people
closest to him -
the adopted son,
Euripides Higino
dos Reis, the
doctor,
Euripides Vieira
Tahan, and Kátia
Maria, a friend
and companion
until his death.
When and if
there is
communication,
the message is
received by some
medium and
contain three
elements. The
three are still
waiting.
"Unfortunately,
until today,
neither was it,"
says the son."

His works
psychic sold
more than 50
million copies
in Portuguese
Chico Xavier
psychographed
409 books, 39
published after
the death, but
never admitted
being the author
of any of these
works.
Reproduces only
what the spirits
he dictated and
made a point of
saying that he
was only the
instrument and
that the work of
spirits. For
this reason,
never accepted
the money from
the sale of his
books, whose
copyrights
graciously gave
spirit to
organizations
and charities
different from
the first book.
His works
psychic sold
more than 50
million copies
in Portuguese,
with

Grave, with 256
poems written by
poets and
Brazilian
Portuguese

like John of
God, war
Junqueiro, Olavo
Bilac, Cruz e
Sousa, Augusto
dos Anjos, was
first published
in 1932. Chico
had the time 22
years of age.
The book, not
surprisingly,
has generated
much controversy
in literary
circles of the
time and still
remains as one
of his most
relevant.
|
But the book,
which reached up
to now the
largest
circulation is
Our Home,
published early
in 1944,
currently has
over 2 million
copies sold, the
work of André
Luiz, a
disembodied
doctor whose
true identity
was never
revealed by
Chico.
