5. Jesus had almost thirty years to be baptized - John son of Zechariah, and advised many things preached to the people, reaching even to publicly rebuke the conduct of King Herod, because of its many evils and kept the love affair with Herodias, wife his brother Philip, why fix the tetrarch shut it down in a prison, where he was later beheaded. Before that, however, Jesus searched the banks of the Jordan River, being baptized by John, on which occasion, praying, the heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon the Messiah in bodily form like a dove, while a voice from heaven, saying, "Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased." Jesus, who had at that time almost thirty years, a descendant of Joseph, belonging to the tribe of Judah, a son of Jacob, grandson of Isaac and grandson of Abraham. (Luke 3:18 to 3:38.)

6. Tempted by Satan, Jesus gives three lessons - After being baptized, Jesus was filled with the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert, where for forty days, tempted by the devil and ate nothing. After this time, he was hungry. The devil then said: "If thou be the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written that not by bread alone doth man live, but by every word of God." The devil, leading him to a high mountain, showed him in a moment all the kingdoms of the world, telling him: "Give thee to thee all this power and the glory, because to me it was delivered, and I who want it. So if you worship me, all shall be thine." Jesus answered and said to him: "Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord your God and serve Him only." The devil then took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, said: "If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee that may keep you and strengthen you in your hands, so you never strike your foot against a stone. " Jesus then gave him his third lesson, saying: "It is said not tempt the Lord thy God." (Luke 4:1 to 4:13.)

7. No prophet is accepted in his own country - after the temptations, Jesus returned to Galilee, where he taught in their synagogues and was praised by all. Came to Nazareth, where he had been entered, as usual, on the Sabbath in the synagogue and stood up to read. When he opened the book of Isaiah that was given by the minister, the open page, he read, brought these words: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach to the poor, sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and give sight to the blind, to set at liberty the oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." Clenching the book and return it to the minister, Jesus sat down, and all eyes in the synagogue were fastened on him. Then he said to them: "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your ears." Everyone marveled at the words coming out of his mouth, saying, "Is not this Joseph's son?" He then told them: "No doubt I will say this proverb: Physician, heal thyself, do also here in thy Homeland everything we have heard done in Capernaum. " He added: "Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his homeland. Verily I say that many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah when the sky was shut for three years and six months, so that in all the earth great famine, and none of them was Elias sent but to Sarepta of Sidon, a widow woman. And many lepers were in Israel at the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian." (Luke 4:14 to 4:27.)

8. Jesus does not allow the demons say he is the Christ - all in the synagogue were filled with anger upon hearing the words spoken by Jesus and, therefore, out of town, intending to kill him. But he, passing through the midst of his opponents, withdrew and went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, where he taught on Saturdays and all his teaching was admired because he was speaking with authority. In those days, the synagogue, a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon cried aloud: "Ah! have we with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God." Jesus rebuked him, determined to shut up and leave. The spirit is gone, and all were amazed, saying to one another: "What is this word, which sends up the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they leave?" From there, Jesus went to Simon's house, where his mother had a high fever. Bowing to her, Jesus rebuked the fever, and it left her, and she rose up immediately, it served them. At sunset, all who had brought the sick and the Lord, putting his hands on every one of them, healed them. Demons also came out of many, crying out: "Thou art the Christ, the Son of God." But he, rebuking them, did not let them talk, they knew that he was Christ. One day, the Lord withdrew to a deserted place, but the crowd followed him and asked him to not go from his people. Jesus explained then be necessary to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of God in other cities, because it had been sent to. And so saying, he began to preach in the synagogues in various cities of Galilee. (Luke 4:28-4:44.)

1. What was the name the man whom the Holy Spirit had said he would not die before seeing the Christ? He actually came to see Jesus?

The man's name was Simeon. Righteous and pious, inspired by the Holy Spirit, he went to the temple and, in fact, he saw there the baby Jesus and took him in her arms, when praised God saying, Lord, now let your servant go in peace according to thy word. Because my eyes have seen thy salvation have prepared before all people, as a light to enlighten the nations, and for the glory of thy people Israel. Then Simeon blessed Jesus' parents and said to Mary his mother: Behold this child is destined to be a cause of decline and resurgence of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against in order to be revealed the thoughts of many hearts. (Luke 2:25 to 2:35.)

2. After making the offer that had led them to Jerusalem, where did Joseph and baby Jesus?

They returned to Galilee, to their city Nazareth. (NR: Luke does not mention because, in his text the way the parents of Jesus to Egypt.) (Luke 2:27 to 2:39.)

His parents went every year to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover. When Jesus had twelve years, once ended the days when they returned, Jesus was in Jerusalem without his parents realize. Thinking he was with his fellow entourage, walked about a day and sought among the relatives and acquaintances. Not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking him, but only three days after they found him in the temple, sitting among the doctors, hearing them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him were amazed at his understanding and answers. When his parents saw him they were astonished and his mother said: "My son, we did?! Behold, your father and I were looking for you, full of grief. He said to them: Why are you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be me of my Father's house? But they did not understand what he said. (Luke 2:41 to 2:52.)

Here's what John told the people that came to be baptized: You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Therefore, do a really successful conversion and begin not to say, We have Abraham as our father. Then I say: God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham. The ax is laid unto the root of the trees. And every tree that bears no good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. The crowd asked him, What shall we do? And he answered: Who has two coats give one who has not, and whoever has food to eat, do the same. The publicans who came to be baptized, John said, does not require more than you ordered. Similarly, soldiers who approached him: Do not do them violence or cheating anyone, and be content with your wages. (Luke 3:7 to 3:14.)

(1) Tetrarch means tetrarchy a governor, each of the four kings of tetrarchy, ie each of the four-party governments or provinces in which they shared some states, like Israel.
