The president of the American Spiritist Council speaks
to the magazine

Many people, even the spiritists, think that everything that happens in marriage was predetermined and that there is no space for unplanned events, since the spirits program their reincarnation and the main experiences they will face in the new life. This is the topic of this week’s editorial entitled Marriage, fate and free will.

Amongst the highlights of this edition, we would like to call the reader’s attention to the interview conceded by our colleague Maurício Cisneiros Filho, who is the president of the United States Spiritist Council and has been living in the US since 1988. Maurício speaks about the spiritist movement in the US, which was, in 1848, the scenary of some mediumistic phenomena that formed the basis for the modern spiritism.

Another highlight of this edition is special in which Marcos Paulo de Oliveira Santos, from the Federal District, addresses the issue of meat consumption, what Emmanuel, in his book The Comforter, considers to be a serious mistake. The article was split into two parts: the conclusion will be published in our next edition.

The USE, institution that coordinates the spiritist movement in Sao Paulo, has promoted last Sunday a new training course for child evangelism teachers, as shown in the article written by Martha Rios Guimarães, which is also one of the highlights of this edition.

Leah Fox has passed away on the 05th of September 1890. Leah was one of the three sisters who, through their psychic powers, served as instrument for the strange phenomena that started on the small village of Hydesville, United States, which gave rise to modern Spiritism.
