We continue this issue to the Systematic Study of the New Testament, which includes the study of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and the book of Acts. 39. Paul goes to the presence of his accusers and is attacked - Aware that Paul was a Roman citizen and wanting to know the truth regarding the charges against him were the Jews, the commander summoned the chief priests and the whole Council, leading Paul to their presence. Facing firmly on the Council, Paul said: "Brothers! was with the best minds that I have done today before God! "The high priest Ananias ordered his assistants beat him in the mouth, to what Paul said," God will hit you, whitewashed wall! You sit to judge the law and the law had a hit on me." Gifts caught his attention, saying he had insulted the priest. Paul replied: "Brothers, I do not know it was the high priest. For it is written: Do not insult the head of your people." (Acts 22:29 to 23:5.) 

40. The Jews plotting the death of Paul and he goes to Caesarea - The turmoil created with the adopted by Paul before the Council has grown and the commander began to fear that he was lynched. They were more than forty who swore so. With this intention, then they asked the chief priests and elders to persuade the commander to bring Paul before them, under pretext of examining his case more carefully. But a nephew of Paul, informed about the ambush, was the barracks and told him. Immediately, Paul called one of the officers and has asked the servant to master, because he had something serious to report. The boy was reported everything he knew, and the commander decided to drive Paul to Governor Felix in Caesarea. (Acts, 23:10 to 23:24.) 

41. In Caesarea, Paul is arrested at the palace of Herod - Claudius Lysias - this is called the master - with the inmate sent the following letter to the governor: "Greetings. This man was arrested by the Jews and was about to be killed by them when they interfered with my soldiers and freed, because I was told it was a Roman citizen. I had him appear before the Board, wishing to verify the accusations. I discovered that he was charged with matters relating to his law, without any charges against him that really deserve death or imprisonment. But I got a tip that armed itself an attack on this man and tried to send it to you, while telling the plaintiffs to submit a complaint against him before thee. Goodbye ". Paul departed during the night and when we arrived in Caesarea, was questioned by Governor Felix, who asked what province he was. Informed that he was from Cilicia, he warned that he would hear it when there were his accusers. Paul was then arrested at the palace of Herod. (Acts, 23:25 to 23:35.)

Those who were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid but did not hear the voice of him who spoke to me. Then I said: Lord, what shall I do? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go to Damascus, and there they will tell you everything that you are commanded to do. And, as I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, and came to Damascus. (Acts 22:6 to 22:11.)

4. Who, according to Paul, helped him regain his vision?

It was Ananias, a devout man, who had testified to by all the Jews living in Damascus. According to Paul, Ananias approached him and stood, and said: Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I saw him. And he said, The God of our fathers appointed you to know His will, and see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth. For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. (Acts, 22:11 to 22:16.)
