Chico and Kardec, two giants, but distinct

The lucid arguments and information that any brother Americo Domingos Nunes Filho presents on special this week about the true identity of Chico Xavier, we cannot add facts and comments that Eduardo Carvalho Monteiro offered us in his book Chico Xavier and Elizabeth, the Queen Saint of Portugal, a work published by Madras.

The book features a biography of Chico Xavier and Queen Isabella of Aragon, considered the Holy Queen of Portugal. Chico registered her presence in the first moments of his psychic task, during which he brought with him a strong influence of his Catholic upbringing. Isabella of Aragon encouraged the practice of charity and told him that in future it could help many institutions with the resources of literary publications, a fact that really happened with the donation of the copyright of all his works mediums.

The medium himself had already reported previously, began his labors as to health care, as we read in the book Chico Xavier - Mandate of Love, published by the União Espírita Mineira.

Here's how Chico Xavier has referred to his first meeting with Queen Elizabeth of Aragon, which occurred in 1927:

"Everything was on order when the night of July 10 above, two days after receiving the first message, when I did the evening prayer, I saw my poor room lights suddenly. The walls reflected the light of a silvery lilac. I was on my knees, my habits as Catholics, and opened his eyes, trying to see what was happening. Then I saw a lady next to me an admirable presence, radiating a light that is scattered throughout the room. I tried to get me to show him respect and courtesy, but I could not remain standing and turned involuntarily knees before her.

The lady looked at the bright image of Our Lady of the Pillar I held in my room and then spoke in Castilian that I understood, though knowing that I did not know the language, she is easily expressed:

- Francisco - told me slowly - in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I come to request their assistance for the poor, our brothers.

The emotion I had all the soul, but I could ask him, though the tears that I covered my face:

- Lady, who are you?

She replied:

- Do not you remember me now, however I am Isabel of Aragon.

I did not know this lady who had some weird name and what she said, but an inner strength to help myself and shut up any comment about my ignorance. But the dialogue was initiated and asked:

- Madam, I am poor and have nothing to give. What help can I give to poorer than myself?

She said:

- You’ll help me spread the bread with the needy.

I cried with grief:

- Lady, almost always has no bread for me. How can I share bread with the others ...

The lady smiled and explained:

- There will come a time when you will have resources. You will write to our people and the Peninsula, working for Jesus, cannot receive material benefits for some pages that you produce, but will arrange for the Messengers of Good will bring resources to start the task. Trust in the Goodness of the Lord. "

The above account is significant for elucidating an important aspect of the work of Chico Xavier, who was his acknowledged devotion to the poor. But emphasizes, also, an early binding with the Queen of Portugal and a strong connection with the doctrine of the medium and habits Catholics.

That is why, confirming the words of Americo Domingos Nunes Filho, we also understand that the fact the Spirit of Chico Xavier is not the one who encouraged Kardec not detract in any way, since, despite all the difficulties they faced, was a successful mission and of fundamental importance to the expansion of knowledge spirit in Brazil and abroad.

Kardec and Chico were and are certainly two giants, nobody ignores, but distinct and unique personalities.
