This week’s editorial, The
influence of religion in a
country's economy,
comments on a poll done the by
Gallup Institute in 114
countries, regarding the
correlation between a nation’s
"per capita" income and its
greater or lesser attachment
to religion.
Among the highlights of this
edition we call the reader's
attention to the interview
given to our contributor Orson
Peter Carrara by the colleague
Ivanildo Fernandes Araújo, a
professor at the Federal
University of Campina Grande-PB
and current CEO of the
Spiritist Municipal
Association of Campina Grande
(AME -GC). In the interview,
the colleague from Paraiba
talks about the origin and
objectives of the Spiritist
Integration Movement of
Paraiba - better known by the
acronym MIEP - an event held
each year during the carnival
that has increasingly
attracted participants from
various regions of the
country.
Another feature of this issue
is the conclusion of the
special article by Paulo Neto
entitled Does the soul
sleep in the mineral?,
where the colleague looks at
this curious idea that some
people attribute to Léon
Denis. The first part of the
article was published in last
week’s edition.
Readers know that they can
read in our site the editions
of The Immortal,
important spiritist newspaper
that will soon complete 58
years of existence. In honor
of this milestone and in order
to facilitate the location of
its editions, the page in our
site that contains this
journal has an important
innovation which is worth
checking out, as shown in the
report published in this
issue, which is also one of
its features.

A new section begins with this
issue: A Moment with Chico
Xavier, which marks the
debut in our editorial team of
our respected colleague - José
Antonio Vieira de Paula, one
of the writers of the
newspaper The Immortal,
a very well appreciated
speaker and author of the book
"A Moment with Chico Xavier."
The new section replaces the
section Raul Teixeira
answers, who graced this
magazine from issue #5 until
last week. The reasons were
explained by us in an
editorial in our last issue.
