Child's imagination

Five year-old Danielle was playing with her dolls when she noticed a man sitting in the living room armchair. He was tall, friendly and smiling. As at that time her mother entered the room and took no notice of him, Danielle said softly:

- Mom, did you not see we have a visitor?

- Visitor? Who, my daughter? - said the mother, surprised, looking at the girl.

And the girl pointed to the chair, where the man was. The mother turned to check it out.

- Dear, there's nobody there! ...

The girl looked again but he was gone.

- But he was there, Mom. I'm sure! He smiled at me and was watching me play!

The mother put her daughter on her lap, gave her a kiss and said:

- My child, your mistake is natural. Kids always have a lot of imagination. Come help me prepare lunch.

Danielle accompanied her mother, but was thoughtful. She really had seen the man. It was not her imagination! Soon, nevertheless, she forgot about it.

However, the situation continued to repeat itself. The girl saw children, women, old people. Sometimes, they were people that scared her, but usually they were cheerful, pleasant and even played with her.

When she told anyone what she saw, they would laugh saying she was imagining things. So therefore, Danielle stopped telling them. She did not want them to laugh at her.

One day she was in the kitchen watching her mother make bread when she saw a man at the door. He greeted her, gently. He had white hair and blue eyes. He was so real that she tugged her mother's skirt and said quietly:

- Mommy, we got a visitor!

The woman followed her daughter's eyes and replied:

- Again, Danielle? There is no one there!

- But there is, Mom! It is a man with white hair and blue eyes, can't you see? He said his name is William.

- William?!...

- Yes, Mom! He said that he is your grandfather Bill.

The mother turned pale and sat down on a chair, weeping copiously.

- That is not possible, sweetheart! You did not meet your great-grandfather and we never say his name. My grandfather Bill has been dead for over fifteen years! ...

- But it is him. He says he came to visit and we will get more visitors today.

The mother, however, was terrified. Impossible! Then her daughter was seeing dead people? She was scared and did not know what to do, how to act.

Trembling, she dropped the dough she was kneading, and stayed there, sitting. Suddenly, the doorbell rang and Danielle ran to see who it was. She opened the door and gave a beautiful smile:

- Aunt Amelia! - she yelled and threw herself into the arms of her aunt, her mother's sister whom she had not seen in a long time.

The newcomer embraced her with love and asked of her mother's whereabouts.

- Come, Aunt Amelia. Mommy's here in the kitchen.

As she realized that her sister had arrived, Wilma

hugged her, crying. Trying to calm her, Amelia asked her why she was crying and Wilma told her what had happened. So Amelia smiled and calmed his sister:

- Oh! Is that it? There is no need be so scared, Wilma! What happened to Danielle is normal. Do not be worried, my sister.

And Amelia explained to her that no one dies, that all spirits that leave the body, continue to live in another reality and can communicate with the so-called "living" which are still in the flesh. She explained that what happened to Danielle is absolutely natural and it is called mediumship, which is the ability to see and hear the disembodied spirits. That instead of tears of concern, the fact deserves to be celebrated with great joy. After all, their granddaddy had come to reassure them about his fate, saying he was all right!

Wilma, calmer now, had stopped crying and listened to her sister, admired. Then she looked at her daughter, apologizing:

- Forgive me, darling, for not have believed in you. But I did not know it could happen!

- I know, Mom. But I also thought I saw people like us, I mean, in the flesh!

They laughed at the words of the girl, who recalled:

- Mom, your grandfather also said that we would receive visitors today, remember?

- It's true! And shortly after, Amelia, you arrived! - she exclaimed, perplexed, noticing the confirmation of what her daughter had said.

- Interesting! My husband had to come to this neighbourhood, and I seized the opportunity to visit you. He left me here and will come back to pick me up later. Thus, we have plenty of time to put our news up-to-date. And from what I see, I arrived just in time!

And Amelia told her sister that she had become a Spiritist, which greatly helped her to understand who we are, where we come from, what we are doing here and where we go. She ended by saying: Now I'm a whole different person.

Amazed at the words and the conviction of her sister, Wilma asked for some explanations, which Amelia gave willingly.

At dinner time, when Danielle's father came home, he had the pleasant surprise to see his sister-in-law and her husband. Their evening was pleasant, in an atmosphere of joy. At the end of the night, when they were about to leave, Amelia invited those present to say a prayer, asking Jesus for support for the whole family. After the prayer, Danielle said:

- My great-grandfather is happy. He sends a hug to all and said that now he can go, because everything has been clarified. He waved goodbye and disappeared - said the girl waving at him.

The next day, interested, Wilma and her husband sought a spiritual centre, grateful for now having their eyes opened to the reality of the spiritual world.
