Generosity is a virtue that
only deserves applause

People who have
had contact with the Gospel know that the greatest commandment of the law concerns the relationship we have with our Father God and our neighbor, our brother. Loving God with all our strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves, here they come down, as Jesus taught, the whole law and the prophets.

It given this understanding, helping people whenever they need it, it is not just an act of charity but a duty to declare that no Christian can deny. Generosity is therefore a virtue we should applaud and encourage at anytime, because it is the most fit in with the profile of a true Christian.

Anyone who has lived next door with people moved by their generosity know how that feeling is important and it is good for everyone, while it is not something verifiable in certain families.

There is an example of generosity in spiritist literature that should serve as a model for all of us and stimulus. We refer to the case of Veneranda, the spiritual patron who André Luiz portrays in his books.

According to André, one day the city Our Home dawned on a party. The reason was that the Brotherhoods of Light, which govern the Christians destinies in America, had honored Veneranda giving her the Medal of Merit of Service. It was made up Veneranda in the first entity of Our Homes to achieve similar honor by presenting one million hours of useful work without interruption, complain or discouragement.

On the day we refer, a committee of the Brotherhoods of Light went to Our Homes to lead her honorable mercy, however, amid the general rejoicing, being gathered in the main square, Governorship, Ministries and the crowd, Veneranda just cried silently and then offered the trophy to the city archives, saying that she did not deserve it and transmitting it to the collective personality of the colony. And, despite the protests of the Governor, she gave up all festive tributes to commemorate what it was intended, later, the event without ever commenting on the honorable achievement.

In a note on this event, André Luiz says Veneranda, in fact, lived closely in areas much higher than those who resided in Our Homes and remained there, in a spirit of love and sacrifice, working - made over a thousand years - by a group of hearts beloved that lingered on Earth.

It left for reasons that Veneranda was beside the Governor of Our Home, the only entity of the colony who had seen Jesus in Shining Balls, a fact that she had also never commented.

We know, based on spiritual doctrine, that the spiritual enhancement of the human creature is the result of three factors well known: good thoughts, good feelings and good deeds, showing that to be generous and help others it does well to both: to who is benefited and the one that provides the benefit.
