Marisa
Barbosa Cajado:
“Each new song is a
source of great joy”
|
Marisa Cajado
(photo), well-known
medium from Brazil’s São
Paulo state, talks about
the messages she has
been receiving from
great discarnate
Brazilian songwriters,
who re-establish the
contact with us through
their new beautiful
songs
Where and when you began
your link with
|
the music? |
It began in 1984, when I
moved to Guarujá, on the
coast of São Paulo
state. I thought
initially that I had
begun to write songs. It
was only after “writing”
the third song, during a
bath, that I realised
the songs were not
really mine. It was a
children’s song,
Resposta em ciranda.
I
recorded it but when I
went to sing it again I
realised I could not
remember anything. Then
I began to make a record
of all the songs that
were coming to me, and
continue coming. It was
only after some 100
songs that one of the
authors identified
himself as Sergio
Bittencourt. After him,
51 other songwriters in
the world of the spirits
have given their names.
And they include some of
the best-known musicians
in Brazilian history:
Adoniran Barbosa, Noel
Rosa, Maysa Matarazzo,
Dolores Duran, Chiquinha
Gonzaga, Ernesto
Nazareth, Vinicius de
Moraes, Ary Barroso,
Catulo da Paixão
Cearense, Luiz Gonzaga
and others. The great
classical music composer
and director, Carlos
Gomes, waited some 10
years to introduce
himself and to reveal
that he was the mentor,
the person in charge of
the whole group. All the
songs were published in
the book Estamos
Voltando (We Are Going
Back).
Tell us about the
lyrics.
All the lyrics and tunes
need to be approved by
Carlos Gomes. They are
aimed at demonstrating
that life goes on and
that talent continues to
evolve in the Spiritual
World. All these
discarnate musicians got
together to give the
best part of them, their
musical talent, and also
to continue to evolve
and progress. Work is
the law of life. It
gives us credit and sets
up the basis for our
growth and development.
What have been your
biggest joys in this
job?
Each new song is a great
source of joy. I get
drenched in rejuvenating
energy, which encourages
me to progress in all
aspects of my life. I
often say that I am the
one who is truly blessed
by all that and I thank
the Lord every minute
for the opportunity of
being involved in this
wonderful job. I just
ask that I continue to
deserve being involved
in the project. A great
source of joy too is
seeing the songs being
performed and
disseminated. Those who
want to listen can do so
through the following
websites:

and

We have received more
than 700 songs from
discarnate musicians and
recorded five CDs. For
those who want to buy
the CDs, just email us
on
cancioneira@uol.com.br.
You also give “musical
talks”. Tell us a bit
more about that.
I love giving musical
talks. There is always
great interaction with
the public. Time flies
in those occasions. We
sing together, remember
and honour the great
songwriters and I can
always feel their
presence near us, happy
that the public still
remember them and happy
to be working for the
common good, sending out
a message of peace and
hope.
Is there a particular
experience you would
like to share with our
readers?
Some time ago I receive
some criticism and,
imperfect as I am, I did
not like it. On the same
day, in the afternoon,
two of the greatest
Brazilian musicians ever
send me two new songs.
The first one, by the
Bossa Nova songwriter,
Vinicius de Moraes, was
entitled Fé e Prova
(Faith and
Tribulations). It
talked, in his unique
way, about not paying
attention to criticism,
that each one should
find their own way. Soon
after, I received a song
by Ary Barroso, Canto
de Fé (Faith Song).
It says that if you have
faith you should not be
surprised by the doubts
of others. You should
carry on humbly, you
should persevere: “Raise
your tone and deliver
your message because
your talent is backed up
by people, who are
looking after you and
guiding you, from the
other side.” Canto de
Fé has been recorded
by Célia Tomboly and is
available on the sites I
mentioned above.
Is there anything else
you would like to add?
My love to all the
readers. Should life
bring to each one of
them every day new
opportunities for
working and developing.
Spiritism has become the
foundations of my life.
It has given me the
necessary strength to
face all troubles along
the way. I am profoundly
grateful for the
enlightenment Spiritism
has brought to my life
and to my parents, who
have guided me towards
the Teachings.
