Lena Alberton, born in
the state of Santa Catarina,
speaks to our magazine
"For a Culture of Peace" is
the title of the editorial
this week, which analyzes
the proposal made by UNESCO
to establish in the world a
Culture of Peace and
non-violence.
Lena Alberton, born in the
city of Tubarao, in the
State of Santa Catarina,
Brazil, is our interviewee.
Linked to CEDAC - Spiritual
Center God, Love and
Charity, an institution
where she currently holds
the position of Directress
of the Department of
Communication, Lena tells us
in the interview as is the
spiritual movement in her
city. The matter is one of
the highlights of this
edition.
Another highlight is the
conclusion of the Special
"Considerations about
Marriage", authored by our
colleague Gebaldo Jose de
Sousa, from Goiania (GO).
The first part of the
article was published in the
last edition. The author
reminds us that life
requires resignation on both
sides and that marriage is,
in fact, a long-term
conversation.
On March 10th, Divaldo
Franco coordinated the “1st
Movement You and Peace” in
the city of Londrina. A huge
public attended the event,
as well as leaders of
various religions. Paul
Salerno tells us how this
event was important in a
story which is also one of
the highlights of this
edition.

Last Thursday, March 19th,
another birthday of Antonio
Goncalves da Silva was
celebrated. He was known as
Batuira. The event happened
in 1839. Batuira was born in
Portugal, in the Parish of
Aguas Santas, but came to
live in Brazil when he was
11 years old. In Brazil, he
became one of the most of
active spreaders of
Spiritism.
For this purpose he founded
on May 25, 1890 the
newspaper “Truth and
Light”, which he
composed and printed.
Furthermore, he delivered
Spiritist conferences in
several cities, creating
spiritual groups in Sao
Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Rio
de Janeiro. Batuira also
founded the Bookstore and
Spiritist Publisher.
