Fluidics creations
and ideoplastia

We present in this issue the topic #89 from the Systematized Study of the Spiritist Doctrine, that is being presented weekly, according to the programme elaborated by the Brazilian Spiritist Federation (FEB), structured in 6 modules and 147 topics.

If the reader uses this program for a study group, we suggest that questions proposed be discussed freely before the reading of the text that follows. If you would like to study alone, we ask you to try to answer the questions at first and only then read the text that follows. The answer key can be found at the end of the lesson.

Questions

1. How do the Spirits act upon the spiritual fluids?

2. In reference to the fluidics creations – for example, the creation of garments worn by the disincarnated – is the action of the Spirits always conscious?

3. Is it possible to a Spirit adopt appearances that he underwent in past existences?

4. How can be explained the phenomenons of zoanthropy, in which disincarnated take up the shape of animals?

5. Do the objects created by the disincarnated have a concrete form to them, as the terrestrial objects seem to have to us incarnated?

Text

The Spirits act upon the fluids through the thought

1. The spiritual fluid, one of the states adopted by the universal fluid, supplies to the Spirits the element from which they extract the materials they act upon. To make this happen, the Spirits use the thought and the will, once these are, for them, what the hand represents to the man.

2. Through the thought they print on the fluids such or which direction and agglomerate, combine or dissipate them, organizing with them groups which present an appearance, a shape, an established placement and even modify their properties, like a Chemist in Earth changes the propriety of gases or other matters’ propriety, combining them according to certain laws. We have here the great workplace or laboratory of the invisible world.

3. It is very common the realization of these modifications without having a conscious thought from the person who provoked it. Such is the case of the Spirits who are perceived by clairvoyants soon after their disincarnation, wearing any garment, even before having realised their new reality. Well, if they don’t know they are disincarnated, how can they be dressed in this or that manner?

4. Most part of the transformations occur, however, under the empire of a wish, a manifestation of a conscious intention. Conceive something and this will be formed. That’s why a Spirit can assume different aspects and present several appearances, wear special garments, carry the most various objects, show physical disabilities and even multilations. These cases demonstrate expressions adopted aiming identification, generally associated to past situations. However, in the same way he adopted an aspect from the past, as soon as his thought locates himself to the present, or to other existence, another transformation will occur immediately.

Hypnotic suggestions can determine changes in the perispirit

5. On the other hand, there are cases of Spirits who maintain the mutilations, deformities or ulcers of their material body because of a conditioning. Unable of readopting their normal and healthy shape on their own, they are induced to a change through a process of clarification and, once they are balanced, they succeed, thanks to the same principle above mentioned.

6. The hypnotic suggestions provoke frequent transformations in the perispirit as well, according to his degradation. This can be observed under two aspects: first, through the self-suggestion which is motivated by a sentiment of guilt or by a voluntary depreciation; second, through the mental action of another Spirit onto a certain spiritual entity, exploiting his lapses which make him practically vulnerable.

7. Therefore we have the explanation for the phenomenons known as zoanthropy, in which Spirits take up the shape of animals, totally or partly. The word zoanthropy, due to its vast meaning, has been lately suggested instead of lycanthropy, which means, etymologically, “study about the werewolf”. There are also cases of Spirits who, almost always with the intention of frightening in order to better achieve their goals, present themselves with a monstrous and scary aspect that sometimes reminds shapes popularly associated to Satan.

8. To all these transformations produced by the mind, it’s given the name of ideoplastia (from the Greek ideo = “of ideas” + plastos = molded + ia = study, analysis), which means, “study of molding through the thought”. Andre Luiz, discussing this subject, declares that “the thought can materialize itself, creating shapes that in many cases cover themselves with a lasting existence, according to the persistence of the wave which they express themselves”.

For the Spirits in general, fluidics creations are real things

9. The materializations represent another example of the act of molding accomplished by the Spirits in the physical effects meetings, in which they use the plastic elements manifested by the mediums and by the rest of the meeting’s attendees, and also, plastic-fluids components absorbed from Nature.

10. By analogous effect, teaches Kardec, the thought of the Spirit fluidically creates the objects that he is used to use. This does not restrict to objects of personal belongings only, like pipe and glasses, walking stick, knife, hat etc., but it extends to things like houses, gardens, furniture, food etc. Some of them have a brief existence, as long as the thought lasts, but there are those that persist for a long time.

11. In the Spirits dimension, the fluidics creations are so real that they adopt, to them, the same aspect that the material things present to the incarnated. The thought, when creating fluidics images, reflects itself on the perispirit of the person who created it, like in a mirror, acquiring a body in the perispirit and in a way photographs itself there. Regarding this, explains Kardec: A man has, for instance, the idea of killing someone. Although the material body remains undisturbed, his spiritual body is put into action by the thought and reproduces the shades of it. The thought creates the image of the victim and the whole scene is pictured, as in a painting, just as the mind imagined it.

12. This fact allows us to understand why, every and any thought can be known. The thought exhibits itself on the perispiritual body and can be noticed by other Spirits who can see the intention of the person. Its execution, however, will depend on the persistence of the purposes and on favourable conditions. Modified these, the dimensions can suffer changes with the consequent alteration of the reflected images on the fluidic envelopment of the individual.

Answer Key

1. How do the Spirits act upon the spiritual fluids?

A.: They act upon the fluids using the thought and the will, once these are, for them, what the hand represents to the man.

2. In reference to the fluidics creations – for example, the creation of garments worn by the disincarnated – is the action of the Spirits always conscious?

A.: No. Actually, it is very common the realization of these modifications without having a conscious thought from the person who provoked it. Such is the case of the Spirits who are perceived by clairvoyants soon after their disincarnation, wearing any garment, even before having realised their new reality.

3. Is it possible to a Spirit adopt appearances that he underwent in past existences?

A.: Yes. This is utterly possible.

4. How can be explained the phenomenons of zoanthropy, in which disincarnated take up the shape of animals?

A.: The hypnotic suggestions provoke these perispiritics transformations. This can be observed under two aspects: first, through the self-suggestion which is motivated by a sentiment of guilt or by a voluntary depreciation; second, through the mental action of another Spirit onto a certain spiritual entity, exploiting his lapses which make him practically vulnerable.

5. Do the objects created by the disincarnated have a concrete form to them, as the terrestrial objects seem to have to us incarnated?

A.: Yes. In the dimension of the Spirits, the fluidics creations are so real that they adopt, to them, the same aspect that the material things present to the incarnated.
