The human fragility when
 sex is the subject

 
Last week, the news worldwide gave an especial emphasis to the Paraguayan Catholic Church for its apologies to the people of that country, because of the mistakes made by some members of the Church during years, regarding their sexual conduct and chastity.

The reason for this public declaration is known. That is because the elected president of Paraguay, a former Catholic bishop, admitted that he is a father a two-year-old child from a relationship with a twenty-year-old woman, when he was still performing his sacerdotal activities. The relationship with the child’s mother would have started about ten years ago, when she was still 16 years old. 

When the news were on, several cases involving leaders and important personalities from other countries were remembered, what evidences the human fragility when the subject is about sexual behavior and fidelity.  

For the Spiritists, there is nothing surprising regarding those facts, since we are perfectly aware of how delayed our planet is from the moral viewpoint. Besides, 60 years ago, exactly in 1948, Frederico Figner consigned in his bookVoltei, psycho graphed by Francisco Cândido Xavier, the information that more than half of the world population consists of semi civilized spirits or barbarians and just 30% is part of the contingent inclined to the superior spirituality. (Cf. Voltei, by Irmão Jacob, FEB press, 7th edition, pg. 93.) 

From 1948 until now, given the exiguity of the time passed, we have to recognize that not much has changed in regard to the inhabitant’s qualifications of our world, an idea that is supported by the general scenario of decomposition and moral misery which has caused wars, corruption, iniquities, violence, several issues shown on the news everyday. 

The theme sexuality played an important role on Freud’s work, which André Luiz refers in the chapter 11 of his book No Mundo Maior, psycho graphed by Francisco Cândido Xavier and published by FEB press. 

In that book, there is a reproduction of a lecture pronounced by a disincarnated instructor, in which both the subject sex and Freud’s thoughts were the focus. The speaker says that Freud centralized his studies on the sexual impulse, giving an absolute importance to it, in such a way that, according to the Freudian specialists, all the psychic problems of personality ended up having their origin from sexual anguish, while two distinct streams of specialists understand that the causes of such problems would also involve the need for power and the idea of superiority, that is, in addition to the sexual satisfaction and the individual status, there is also the impulse for having a superior life which tortures the terrestrial human, apparently happy. 

From the viewpoint of the instructor mentioned by André Luiz, the three schools carry a certain dose of reason, although, according to him, it is not possible to affirm that everything regarding the carnal existence consists of sex, need for status and superiority. 

Having said that, the instructor admitted, on his final considerations, that more than half of the millions of spirits incarnated on Earth’s crust, with their minds fixed on the region of instinctive movements, concentrate their faculties on sex, which naturally originates the most vast and frequent nervous disorders. 

Given theses words, nobody should be surprised if more deceptions come to appear in this world, a scenario that will only change with the moral improvement of the inhabitants of the planet, what will obviously demand a long time and serious effort from every one.
