Juca's Friends
|
Juca was a
strange boy. He
lived with his
head in the
clouds, as if
far away from
everything.
Sometimes he
would be quiet
and then
suddenly begin
to laugh alone.
Other times, he
would be looking
up, very
interested, as
if he could see
something that
others did not
see. Some even
asserted that
they had seen
him talking to
himself!
And they
wondered:
- What is
happening with
Juca?
|
|
So, his friends
began to keep
away from him!
And, far from
his presence,
they commented: |
- Poor Juca! Is
he in trouble? -
asked Celso.
- Maybe he's
just absent
minded, living
with his head in
the clouds! -
someone else
suggested.
- Well, I fear
he is going
crazy - added
Rose, with
goosebumps.
Hearing those
words, the kids
shook with fear,
and fell silent,
brooding.
Amid the fearful
silence that
reigned, a firm
voice was heard:
|
- I do not
believe any of
it! If it was so,
Juca could not
study, and his
grades are
always great,
aren't they? -
Zaza questioned,
frankly.
They all
remained silent.
Juca's school
performance was
really good and
his grades were
the best. So,
what was
happening to him?
- Since you are
so concerned and
|
curious, why not
ask him directly?
- Zaza suggested,
looking at her
friends. |
They agreed it
was the best
option. So later
they met and
went to talk to
Juca.
They knocked on
the door and his
mother answered.
- Hello, dona1
Maria! We would
like to talk
with Juca. Is he
home?
- Hello, guys! -
she greeted them
smiling. - Yes,
Juca is doing
his homework in
his room. You
know the way, so
go ahead! My son
will be glad to
see you!
The group walked
down the hall
and entered
Juca's room.
Zaza, who led
the group, went
straight to the
point:
- Our friends
want to talk
with you, Juca!
- Be my guest!
What do you want?
Embarrassed, the
friends were
reluctant to say
anything, until
Zaza decisively
informed:
- They want to
know what is
happening to you,
Juca. They think
you are
different, weird!
...
Juca smiled,
invited everyone
to get settled
down, which they
did sitting on
the bed and
floor. Then
calmly, the boy
asked:
- Different how?
- Ah! Sometimes
it seems that
you're seeing
things that we
do not see, and
you laugh for no
reason...
|
- Ah ...
Actually, guys,
I hear and see
things that you
do not! I'll
explain...
And he told his
friends that he
had always seen
the souls of
those who were
no longer on
Earth, the
Spirits. At
first he did not
realized it,
thinking he was
seeing people of
flesh and blood.
Then his mother
explained to him
that they were
the souls of
those who had
already died. He
ended by saying:
- They are my
friends! Right
now, I see your
|
grandfather,
Celso. He says
he is very well
and lives with
his mother, dona
Cora. |
- My
great-grandmother...
- Celso
exclaimed, his
eyes wide open.
- That's right.
And you, Rose,
are accompanied
by a little dog
named Billy.
Remember him?
- Of course I
do! Billy was my
pet, but one day
he was hit by a
car and died!...
- Billy is very
well, I assure
you! And he is
also accompanied
by your Aunt
Laura. A pretty
young woman with
long blond hair.
Rose started
crying with
emotion. It was
all true!
Juca kept on
giving them
information of
the spiritual
world. But,
ashamed, his
friends said:
- We are sorry,
Juca. We
misjudged you.
- Do not worry,
I understand
perfectly.
- And how do you
do so well on
the tests? - Do
your "invisible
friends" dictate
to you what to
write?!...
- No... - Juca
said, laughing -
Of course not!
Actually, I
study a lot,
believe you me!
But, during the
tests, I feel
the presence of
my friends
because I always
say a prayer
before starting
to answer the
questions.
Hearing these
things, Juca's
friends were
marvelled. Some
remembered
having had
visions of
spirits a long
time ago, but
realized that
they were never
interested in
those memories
because they
thought that
they were a
product of their
imagination.
Others reported
that adults had
undertaken the
task of making
them forget
about what they
saw, saying that
it was all
nonsense.
The kids left
Juca's house
with another
understanding of
life, learning
that those who
inhabit the
spirit world can
communicate with
and even help
their loved ones
who are still
incarnated on
Earth.
Thereby, the
connection
between Juca and
his friends
further
increased. Now,
they respected
him, and when
they saw him fix
his eyes at any
point around and
smile, they
understood and
knowingly exchanged a look
as if to say:
- Juca is seeing
a spirit friend!
